研究目的

本研究項目旨在分析本港男男性接觸者社群現時的猴痘暴露程度及將來的傳播風險。

Aim

研究設計

參加者將會填答一份網上問卷,內容包括個人背景資料、性行為及性病史、猴痘相關暴露史及疫苗接種情況,和風險評估。

Study Design

Participants would be asked to complete a self-administered online questionnaire covering sociodemographics, sexual behaviour, sexually transmitted infection diagnosis, mpox exposure risk and vaccination history, and risk perceptions.

After completion of the questionnaire, participants would be invited to provide a blood sample of not more than 6mL for mpox serological testing at the Research Centre located in Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin.

Participants completing the questionnaire only would receive a HKD20 cash voucher, whereas those providing blood samples in addition to the questionnaire would receive a HKD100 cash voucher for compensating the time and travel cost.

This is an anonymous study. Data collected would not be stored in clinical records in any hospitals or clinics. Study results will only be statistically presented without disclosure of personal level information. Results of the study would only be used for global analysis without referral to individual participant. An individual’s information would be treated in strictest confidence. All research data would only be accessible to researchers and their staff. Research data would be stored for no more than five years. Leftover blood samples, if available, would be used for validation of test results or further serological analyses in line with the objectives of the study. Performing venipuncture may result in discomfort, pain, bleeding, fainting, bruising, or hematoma at the site of puncture. Participation is entirely voluntary and will not subject the participants to any foreseeable psychological, physiological, social, legal or commercial risks or benefits. You can quit this study whenever you wish. In the event that you withdraw from the study, the questionnaire data would be destroyed, and that these would not be recorded or included in the subsequent analyses. Your access to clinical services would not be affected if you refuse to join the study, or request to withdraw after joining.

The serological results would not be conveyed to the participants as the test is for research use only.
